Privacy
Last updated 27 July 2026
Stocklight is currently in development. This policy describes the app and website as they operate today and will be updated if their data practices change.
In short
Stocklight stores your inventory data in a local database on your device. Local use does not require an account. Your items, counts, and history are not transmitted to us unless you choose a feature that clearly requires an online service.
Who is responsible
Stocklight is operated by Imdad Ismail in Sri Lanka. For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected].
What is stored on your device
Your workspace holds items, locations, per-location balances, stock events, transfers, activity, low-stock thresholds, and up to one photo per item.
All of it lives in a local database on the device, protected by iOS data protection. Deleting the app removes that database.
Analytics
The app and website do not use advertising trackers or product analytics. Scanning a barcode does not query an external catalogue.
Camera
The camera is used only to read barcodes and QR codes, and only while you are on the scan screen. Codes are decoded on the device and matched against your own items. No image from scanning is stored or transmitted.
Photos
You can attach one photo to an item. It is compressed to at most 1600 pixels on the long edge and stored locally alongside the rest of your workspace.
Cloud sync is not yet available
Optional cloud sync is planned but is not available today. Your inventory is not sent to a Stocklight cloud service in the current release. This policy will be updated before cloud sync is offered.
Purchases
If you use a paid feature, Apple processes the purchase and payment. Stocklight does not receive or store your payment-card details.
RevenueCat helps the app retrieve products and determine whether Stocklight Pro is active. RevenueCat may process an app-specific customer identifier, purchase and subscription status, product identifiers, and technical information needed to provide that service. RevenueCat does not receive your inventory records from Stocklight.
Getting your data out, and deleting it
You can export a full CSV package at any time, covering items, locations, balances, stock events, transfers, and activity, with a manifest describing the set.
You can delete your local workspace from within the app, and deleting the app removes the local database.
Retention and deletion
Local inventory data remains on your device until you delete the workspace or the app. Purchase records are retained by Apple and RevenueCat under their respective policies and legal obligations.
To request deletion of information controlled by Stocklight, email [email protected]. We may need to retain limited records when required by law.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the use of your personal information. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
Children
Stocklight is a business tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version will be published here with an updated date.
