Support

Stocklight is in development. The answers below cover what the app does today, and you can contact us if you need more help.

Common questions

Do I need an account?
No. Local use requires no account and no connection. You can create a workspace and start counting straight away.
Does Stocklight work offline?
Yes, fully. Your workspace is a local database on the device, and every core action works with no connection.
What happens when I scan a barcode?
The code is read on your device and used to find an item you already track, or to prefill a new one. Stocklight does not look codes up in any external catalogue, so scanning an unknown product will not fill in its name for you.
Can I fix a mistake?
Yes. A correction adds a compensating event. The original entry stays in the history rather than being rewritten, so the record of what happened remains accurate.
What if two counts conflict?
If a recount conflicts with other activity, Stocklight surfaces the conflict rather than silently overwriting one side. Resolving it creates a new event; neither original is deleted.
Can I import my existing spreadsheet?
Yes, as CSV, up to 10,000 data rows per import. You map the columns, preview the result, and commit it as a single unit, so a failed import cannot leave you half-migrated.
Can I get my data out?
Yes. Stocklight exports a full CSV package covering items, locations, balances, stock events, transfers, and activity, with a manifest describing the set.
Does it handle fractional quantities?
Yes, to three decimal places, so materials measured by weight or length work as well as countable units.
Will I be notified when stock is low?
Stocklight does not send low-stock notifications. You set a threshold for an item in a location, and the Low Stock view in Reports lists everything that has fallen below it.
Which devices are supported?
iPhone and iPad, running iOS or iPadOS 17 or later. The interface is designed for iPhone first and adapts to iPad.
Which languages is the app available in?
English.
